I Want to Help!
Supported By
Scottsdale 20/30

The Scottsdale Active 20-30 Club was founded with the single objective of supporting children's charities. By hosting special events, this non-profit club draws the community together to raise funds for and to educate our citizens about the financial, medical, and emotional needs of Arizona's children.

The Club provides young adults with an opportunity to impact the community by improving the quality of life for special needs children while fostering personal growth, friendships, networking skills and leadership development.
The Charro Foundation

The mission of The Charro Foundation is to promote education through scholarships, youth development and sports in our community. The Foundation proudly supports this mission by developing programming through collaborative partnerships with community organizations.

In 2012, The Charros Foundation provided Ear Candy with a $5,000 grant to place high quality refurbished instrument in local music programs. It is their generous support which has made the placement of these instruments possible.

Kishi Bashi

Kishi Bashi is the pseudonym for violin virtuoso K Ishibashi. In December of 2012, K released a Christmas single through label Joyful Noise, which was pressed on white Flexi-Disc, and uniquely die-cut into the shape of a snowflake. He asked that all proceeds from the 1000 limited edition records be donated to Ear Candy Charity to place stringed instruments in music programs.

K has recorded and toured internationally with diverse artists such as Regina Spektor, Sondre Lerche, and most recently, the Athens, Georgia based indie rock group of Montreal. Shortly after debuting his full length solo album 151a, NPR All Songs Considered host Bob Boilen listed Kishi Bashi as his favorite new artist of 2012 noting that he created "a radiant, uplifting soundscape" with songs such as "Bright Whites."

Oh violin, oh viola, where art thou?
Four music teachers in two years... no stability, no consistency. It's difficult to find a good music teacher and when you do, it's necessary to supply them with instruments to empower students. I'm currently finishing up my second year teaching at Freedom Academy and have greatly enjoyed the journey thus far.

I have a cart. It is very blue. On the top of my cart sits a keyboard. A shelf below contains various boomwhackers. And another shelf holds my speaker and several small percussion instruments. I teach an entire unit about the instruments of the orchestra and yet, most of my students will never get to actually hold the instruments they have learned so much about.

The students would be overwhelmed to start a small strings group at school. Many of them have expressed their desire to play "real" instruments some day.

Any donations would be appreciated beyond words... please help me in making some dreams come true.
