The City of Tempe and
Ear Candy Charity have teamed up to ensure that every generation has access to music education by collecting musical instrument donations at the
Tempe Symphony Orchestra concert at
7:30 p.m. on April 18 at the
Tempe Center for the Arts (TCA), 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway.

Individuals bringing used instruments to the “drop-off” event will receive a post-concert, backstage tour of the TCA and recognition at the event. The goal is to collect new and gently used instruments. Many times instruments are beyond repair or the cost to repair is greater than the cost to replace. These instruments are typically donated to a local artist or community organization for use in a project or to create an art piece to be used for fundraising purposes.
Ear Candy Charity will place the instruments with area school music programs in need.
Ear Candy tracks every instrument and lets the original donors know where their instruments are making an impact in the community. Together, the organizations will impact thousands of youth by giving Old Instruments New Life.
Types of instruments and gear that can be donated:
•Small instruments – cello, clarinet, flute, French horn, guitars (acoustic, bass, electric), keyboard, percussion instruments (all types), oboe, saxophones (all types), trombone, trumpet, violin / viola.
•Gear - amplifier speakers, effect pedals, recording equipment, microphones & stands, strings (all types).
•Large instruments (e-mail: Info@EarCandyCharity.org for special instructions) – drum set, piano.
