Music Program Description:
Ear Candy teamed up with 1n10 for a 10 week acoustic guitar after-school program in Fall 2009. The program was designed to give the beginning guitarist an understanding of basic guitar technique and musical knowledge. By playing chords, developing note reading skills, and listening, students will develop a well-rounded approach to the discipline. Through individual practice and group performance a deeper understanding of the instrument and music will be achieved.

1in10 provides a safe environment for LBGTQ youth to develop positive self-acceptance through life enhancing programs.  This is Ear Candy's first program with this community and we are delighted to share the universal language of music with our friends at 1in10.

This program met every Wednesday from 5 PM until 7 PM and ran from 9/30/09 until 12/9/09.  At the conclusion of the program the students had an opportunity to perform at the Ear Candy Emerging Artist Series on 9/18 at the Hard Rock Cafe in Downtown Phoenix.
