Calendar & Book Signing to Benefit Ear Candy & Wounded Warriors

Monday, December 20
Ear Candy Founder and CEO, Nate Anderson, will be attending a calendar and book signing with B. J. Lambesis, author of the novel, Brothers of a Band. The event will be held at the Changing Hands Book Store in Tempe from 6pm to 8pm.

Nate will be selling copies of the 2011 Ear Candy Charity Calendar which features colorful images of some of the children the organization has benefited. Ms. Lambesis will be signing copies of her debut novel, a cultural and political satire about modern American life and the Afghanistan War. The novel centers around protagonist, Theodore “Tooter” Rawlings, a classically trained woodwind player, loses his job with a community orchestra, he joins the Army Band to ride out the recession. The Army, however, is so short-handed Tooter ends up in Afghanistan patrolling with a rifle, instead of tooting his horn at Army ceremonies and social occasions. Tooter encounters plenty of nonsense, absurdity and short-comings of the human condition as he ventures through life. Luckily, two things seem to transcend it all – music and the human spirit.

Proceeds from the book sales will benefit Ear Candy Charity and the Wounded Warrior Project, which provides programs and services to severely injured, military service members wounded in the Iraq and Afghan wars.
